About

Video editing w/ DaVinci Resolve

This 2-day workshop is aimed at filmmakers who are looking for a free alternative to other professional video editing software. It is expected that participants already have experience with another NLE Platform.

DaVinci Resolve is powerful software, best known for its colour correction capabilities. However, it is also a very useful platform for Video Editing. Designed to be intuitive and familiar, it has functions such as drag-and-drop to the timeline, customizable keyboard shortcuts, advanced trimming tools, a timeline based key-frame editor, 3rd party plugins that allow for generators, transitions and filter effects, audio waveform overlay that allows you to see the audio waveform and video clip at the same time, and the option of creating arbitrary bins to organize footage or Smart Bins to automatically organize clips based on metadata.

This workshop will teach participants to become familiar with the interface, the various tools the software has to offer, and how to do basic film editing.
