This workshop is designated as introductory training for media artists and artists from other disciplines who would like to explore using video in their work. It is also open to members of the public wishing to create independent video works. This two-day workshop teaches the basics of camera, audio and lighting through hands-on training. On the first day of the workshop, participants will receive basic instruction on SAW Videos High-definition Video Cameras -- such as the Sony EX1, the Panasonic AC-160, or the Panasonic HPX170 . Participants will be introduced to three-point lighting and dealing with power on location. A variety of mics will be used and their applications will be discussed. The second day of the workshop will provide further opportunities for hands-on instruction, and shooting exercises will be indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) simulating varying conditions and situations.
