SAW Video is seeking New Workshop Instructors & New Workshop Proposals!

If you are passionate about Video Production, Post-Production, Animation, Interactive Video, Projection Mapping, VJ’ing, Media Art, or VR Technologies, apply to teach a workshop at SAW Video. 

SAW Video works with a pool of instructors, and offers instructors teaching opportunities based upon the instructor’s skill-set and availability, and based on the demand and interest for a workshop. SAW Video has an upcoming move in the Summer/Fall of 2017 into a new purpose-built space upstairs on the Main floor of the Arts Court Building.  This Call for Applications is for new workshop proposals and for new qualified instructors starting in the Fall of 2017 or Winter/Spring of 2018.

Position profile:

  • SAW Video pays our workshop instructors per hour, plus preparation time for each workshop, and if applicable, time for the development of course outlines, teaching materials, and handouts.
  • SAW Video’s workshops vary in length and scope, though most focus on beginner skills, some focus on intermediate and advanced training. New workshop ideas are welcome!
  • All applicants must commit to participating in a SAW Video Instructor orientation session prior to teaching a workshop.
  • Traditionally, our workshops have run for 6 hours over 2 weekday evenings, 10 hours over 2 weekend days, or 8 hours over 1 weekend day. Daytime weekday workshops are also possible, as are workshop series’ that take place once a week over several weeks.

SAW Video Workshop Instructor Minimum Requirements:

  • Prior experience teaching and/or working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and/or age groups.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent training or experience in Video Production and/or Digital Technologies relevant to the workshop being proposed.
