SAW MASQUERADE

A night of frightful fun at SAW Video
October 23, 2009 at Club SAW, 7pm-1am

Tickets available at SAW Video (67 Nicholas St.) and Arts Court (2 Daly Ave.)
SAW Video members: $10
General: $10 in advance, $12 at the door
16 & under: $5 in advance, $6 at the door

There have been rumours of strange happenings in the basement of the Arts Court building. things like sightings of mummies and skeletons and a room full of severed limbs and bloody heads. One person editing late at night claims to have seen zombies dancing and heard screams coming from Club SAW! Either the ghosts of Arts Court are getting restless, or SAW Video is preparing for this year's fundraiser - SAW Masquerade!

On October 23rd, if you dare, descend in costume upon 67 Nicholas Street. In addition to great door and costume prizes, there will be a Mini-Museum of Horror featuring gory props created by infamous local horror filmmakers like Lee Demarbre, Brian Singleton, Brett Kelly, Matt Mitchell and Josh Grace; a performance by the equally infamous Sexual Overtones with their unique blend of burlesque, vaudeville entertainment and mummies; a Classic Horror Movie Fest; a macabre Balloon Sculptor; a (scary) Silent Auction; a ghoulish Mask Making table; and VJ Daisy and DJ Mr. Caffrey who will be spinning freaky tunes all night long. Outside in SAW's courtyard, a Thriller Dance workshop by Thrill the World Ottawa will help to get you in the zombie mood. SAW Masquerade gets underway at 7pm, with family-friendly entertainment until 10pm.

Test out your costume before the big night, get spooked, and enjoy some treats while enjoying great local performances and supporting SAW Video! Proceeds from the Masquerade will go towards growing the SAW Video JumpstART Mentorship, a program that has launched the career of countless local video artists.
